Artist’s Statement
Unintentional
These paper collages are rhetorical questions on the nature of intention in art: those things which we attempt to describe in order to relate by perception and those things which we can only attempt to express by conception. They are made by only two intentional acts: the choice to see value in the unintended consequences of the discarded remnants of a planned composition, placed exactly as they fell; and the presentation format.
